Breana Turner is a PhD candidate in Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health at Virginia Tech, where she researches Black women’s health and wellness. As a former pageant queen, on social media she is known as the “Princess and the PhD,” where Breana utilizes storytelling to bridge the gap between the average person and science, making complex research accessible and relatable. As founder of the community initiative, Becoming HealthyHer she empowers women to embrace agency in their health journeys. Breana is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. As a multi-hyphenate force, Breana bridges worlds—science and society, pageantry and academia, research and real life.
